Alexis Brandow, RN, Master’s student

I’m originally from Washington State, where I grew up knowing the stories, trees, animals, and waterways of the land. Learning about the seasons, plants, and places here in Wisconsin is helping me feel more at home. I’m passionate about supporting children, families, and adults as they work through life’s challenges and build resilience. My approach is hands-on and grounded in the present moment, helping people move beyond stuck patterns into more ease and flow. I use person-centered methods, play-based methods, and motivational interviewing to meet each person where they are.
For the last 10 years, I worked in the medical system as a registered nurse, where I came to believe that emotional and mental health are just as important—if not more so—than physical health. Before becoming a nurse, I worked in education with both elementary and college-aged students, restored native habitats, built hiking trails, and led groups of youth and adults outdoors. I loved that work, especially seeing how time in nature helped people grow and heal.
I carry that same respect for personal growth and connection into my work today. My favorite places almost always involve water—whether I’m paddling, listening to ocean waves, or playing at the beach with my family. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you in whatever part of the journey you’re on.
